Release note

What's must to be done:

  1. Cockpit update via the tablet
  2. Avionic update via SD card
  3. Camera update via SD card (not needed if already up to date)

Cockpit + Drone must be up to date before the use!

If one of the component is not up to date, incompatibilities and bugs can result!

Important notice:

  • Don't rename firmware files
  • Test flight must be done after firmware updates
  • The firmware of the controller unit does not change and should remain at v1.2.10

Updating the Avionic Firmware

  1. Connect a PC to you drone using via the USB cable, or, remove the LOG SD cardELIOS 2 - SD Cards
  2. Download and copy the Avionics firmware binary file (ELIOS2_Vxxxxx.BIN) to the root of the Payload LOG SD card

    Make sure that no battery is connected to the drone while uploading the file via the USB cable.

  3. Power up the drone with a fully charged battery

  4. The firmware process will begin and the 4 arm sensors LED will blink quickly, in a yellowish color

    The drone may reboot several times, you will hear the start up chime.

    Do not unplug the battery until the update process is completed. This can take up to 5 minutes

    When the arms LEDs blink one after the other and slower in a yellowish color, the update is done, you can unplug the battery.

  5. Plug back the battery and connect the GCS, go to Cockpit 'About' tab and verify the avionics firmware version

 

Updating the Camera Firmware

  1. Connect a PC to you drone using via the USB cable, or, remove the LOG SD card.ELIOS 2 - SD Cards
  2. Download the camera binary file (firmware.bin) and copy the file to the root of the Camera SD Card
  3. Power up the drone with a fully charged battery
  4. The firmware process will begin 

    The LEDs will blink normally, please wait 2 minutes with the drone powered, then unplug it

  5. Plug back the battery and connect the GCS, go to Cockpit 'About' tab and verify the camera firmware version.

Update via Avionic SD card

  1. Remove the Avionic SD card 
  2. Place the SD card into you computer, download and copy the new Avionics firmware binary file to the root of the avionics SD card
  3. Power up the drone with a fully charged battery
  4. The firmware process will begin and the 4 arm sensors LED will blink quickly, in a yellowish color 

    The drone may reboot several times, you will hear the startup chime, do not unplug the battery until the update process is completed. This can take up to 5 minutes

    When the arms LEDs blink one after the other and slower in a yellowish color, the update is done, you can unplug the battery

  5. Plug back the battery with GCS connected, go to Cockpit 'About' tab and confirm new Avionics firmware
