# How to connect Elios 3 to Inspector 5

Prerequisites:

* Elios 3 drone with a full battery.
* Drone firmware and Inspector version should align. [Elios 3 System update](/aircraft/elios-3/elios-3-system-update.md)
* Quality USB hub and cable.
* Stable and open internet connection when updating firmware.

**Instructions:**&#x20;

1. Open Inspector 5.
   1. Click the **(1a)** Import tab.

2. Use a USB cable to connect the drone to the computer.
3. Power on the Elios 3 by plugging in a battery pack and pressing the power button.   \
   Please note that connection can take about 2 minutes to complete.
4. Once connected you will automatically be redirected to the Import page.

**Troubleshooting:**

When encountering an issue connecting the Elios 3 drone to Inspector, please refer to the following troubleshooting tips.

* Is the Elios 3 powered on with a steady purple LED?
* Try other USB cables, and ports.
* Use the USB hub to connect through.
  * Recommended: USB-A Hub - USB 3.2 Gen 1.
* Try a USB 2.0 cable.
* Try another computer.

If the issue persists:

* Disconnect the wifi, and try again.
* Check that the avionics and camera SD cards are mounted in Windows File Explorer.
