Elios 3 Activation Guide

This guide explains how to activate your Elios 3 directly from the Cockpit App and ensure a smooth setup.

Prerequisites

Before starting the activation process, make sure you have the following:

  • Internet Access

    • Your tablet must be connected to Wi-Fi.

    • Ensure the network is open and does not include restrictions blocking the activation process. E.g. protected networks that could contain proxy servers, firewalls, and/or antivirus software. For more information: Required Remote URLs and Portsarrow-up-right

  • Flyability Account

    • You need a Flyability account to activate the drone.

    • If you do not have one, create it at cloud.flyability.com or by using the Register button inside the Cockpit App.

Step-by-Step Activation Procedure

  1. Turn on the tablet and confirm it is connected to a strong, open internet connection or Mobile Hotspot Wifi.

  2. Connect the tablet to the Remote Controller using the USB-C cable provided:

  3. Power on the Remote Controller.

  4. Open the Cockpit App on the tablet.

  5. Insert a fully charged battery into the Elios 3 and power on the drone.

  6. Wait a few moments for the app to establish the connection.

  7. When the registration pop-up appears, select LOGIN, then enter your Flyability email and password to complete the activation.

Troubleshooting

  • If NO activation has been completed, the user is limited to 20 flights.

  • Error message: “Drone not activated: Please activate the drone following the license activation process (error S35)” — ensure that the correct email address is used when registering in Inspector.

  • If the tablet’s timezone does not match the user’s actual location, the drone activation will fail. To fix this, go to: Settings → General management → Date and time → Enable “Automatic date and time.”

  • The tablet must be connected to the internet (Wi-Fi or mobile hotspot) for the license activation to succeed.

  • Firmware mismatch: If the drone, remote controller, and Cockpit app are running different firmware versions, the system may fail to connect or operate correctly. Ensure all firmware versions are aligned. For more information, refer to the System Versions Compatibility Chartarrow-up-right.

  • Network restrictions: Firewalls, VPNs, or strict IT security policies on the network can block communication with the activation servers. For more information, refer to the Required Remote URLs and Portsarrow-up-right
